Cuprum Distillery making hand sanitiser for Bunbury community – Article from the Bunbury Mail
Bunbury’s newest gin distillery has devised an exciting campaign to help local residents, community groups, and businesses.
Totally Workwear Bunbury owner Mike Honeybell and his team have spent the past few years building Cuprum Distillery from the ground up.
“We got our manufacturer’s licence in mid-February, and we’ve spent the last couple of months developing recipes for our gin,” he said.
In the wake of the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, the company is now making 100-millilitre, 500ml, and 700ml bottles of hand sanitiser at its Forrest Avenue premises.
Late last month, the team set about re-jigging their operations, creating a new website, and fulfilling orders.
The distillery has since sold bottles/cases to Enable WA, Main Roads, the Bunbury Port, and the Bunbury Regional Hospital.
“Sanitiser is made up of at least 70 per cent ethanol, so it made sense for us to do this,” Mr Honeybell said.
“This campaign satisfies two needs – helping the community and launching our brand.
“At Totally Workwear, a lot of our clients need hand sanitiser in order to keep going and stay safe.
“It feels good to help some of the region’s not-for-profit organisations and community groups.”
Customers can pick up their orders from Cuprum Distillery HQ or Totally Workwear Bunbury.
